British Masters Championships 2015

PSUK Swimming Team Smash British Record

The 2015 British Long Course Masters took place in Manchester 12-14th June 2015. A disappointingly small number of swimmers were able to make the weekend but that didn't impact on the overall results.

In the 120 + years mixed 4 x 50m freestyle relay, Brian STEATHAM & Hayley BIRD (West Midlands), Aimee RAMM (Leicestershire) and Aaron JONES (GMP) smashed the British Masters Record by 2 seconds recording a time of 1.44.59. BIRD competing in the 25-29 age group won silver in the 50 & 100m freestyle events while STEATHAM won silver in the 100m freestyle and bronze in the 50m breastroke 30-34 age group.

Geoff BODDIE (Merseyside) competing in the 40-44 age group settled for a full set, one of each colour, gold, silver and bronze respectively in the 200, 100 & 50m breastroke events. In the same age group Claire THORN (West Midlands) won bronze in the 800m freestyle.

Sara GAMBLE (West Midlands) was 4th in both the 50 & 100m breastrokes 25-29 age group.

The next event the team are looking forward to is the International Championships hosted by us at Loughborough in September.
