RAMM has midas touch!!
Aimee RAMM (Leicestershire) brought in the gold medals at the 2016 Great Britain Masters Long Course Championships at Sheffield 1-3rd April. RAMM won gold in all events she did; 50m & 100m freestyle and 50m butterfly; she was also part of the Great British Record Breaking relay team: 4 x 200m freestyle 160 years. Joining her were Claire Thorn and Nigel Gaskin (West Midlands) and Paul Frith (GMP), the four took 5 seconds off the previous record recording a time of 9 minutes 11 seconds.
Thorn had her best Championships in history benefiting from moving into the 45-49 year age category; she won gold in the 200m freestyle, silver in the 800m freestyle and bronze in the 400m freestyle and 100m & 200m breastroke events.
James Patterson (Notts) won a bronze in the 35-39 years 50m freestyle; he was joined by Brian Steatham (West Mids), Frith & Gaskin to take silver in the Men's 4 x 50m medley relay 120 years.
Other relay success came from the Mixed 4 x 50m freestyle relay: Steatham, Ramm, Sara Gamble and Ryan Long (West Mids) who won gold medal in the 120 years age category.
Although only a petit team of 8 every team member won medals. These Championships took place 2 months prior to when they are usually held due to the European Masters Championships scheduled to take place in May at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. PSUK will be sending at team to this event which falls just after the National Police Championships later this month.
